In aesthetic surgery of the breast, mammary augmentation by the insertion of a breast implant (or prothesis) is the most commonly used technique.
After explaining the procedures and risks involved in the operation, Dr Dudrap will, during consultation, discuss the pros and cons of each approach.

The breast implant will be inserted by way of an incision either under the breast (infra-mammary approach), or around the areola (peri-areolar approach) or in the armpit (axillary approach).

The breast implant will, depending on the case, be positioned behind or in front of the great pectoral muscle (pectoralis major) or also half-way (dual-plane).

The breast implants or prosthesis used by Dr Dudrap are silicone-gel-filled and round or anatomic in shape, depending on the desired result.  Round implants will fill the breast’s upper part (neck-line), while anatomic implants will manage a softer transition between chest and breast.

Based on photographs taken during consultation, a 3D simulation will be offered by Dr Dudrap to visualise the results to be expected with implants of different shapes and profiles. This new technology is a considerable step forward in the choice of implants and pre-visualisation of results.

Process Data

Sedation: general
Treatment: ambulatory, or 1 night in clinic
Recovery: swelling, wearing of a sports bra for 6 weeks

Dr. Dudrap's expertise

The anatomy of the pectoralis major muscle (great pectoral) was the subject of Dr Dudrap’s Medical Dissertation. Thanks to dissections carried out in the Anatomy Laboratory, the muscle’s anatomic variations and its topographic relationship to the breast base were established. This made it possible to evaluate the degree to which the muscle really overlaps the implant in case of breast augmentation..

The new 3D Crisalix simulation software is run on the basis of 3 photographs of the patient. The tri-dimensional reconstitution permits the choice of a specific implant (shape, profile, size, volume) to satisfy the demand. Different sizes of implant can be compared and results pre-visualised with considerable dependability.
